Agro2Circular (A2C) project is focused on the implementation of the first territorial systemic solution for the upcycling of most relevant residues in the agrifood sector (fruits & vegetables as well as plastic multilayers) into high added value products, powered by a digital tool and constructed upon a systemic approach with high replicable/scalable potential.A2C will be demonstrated in the Region of Murcia (Spain) and replicated throughout Europe for the territorial deployment of the circular economy.

Impact

A2C territorial decoupling model creates increasing economic returns, reducing the social gap and regenerating the regional natural capital. By tackling this potential, A2C enables socioeconomic and environmental global concerns, contributes to the recovery of European impacts of COVID19 crisis while increasing the security of some of the key product value chain for Europe, such as packaging, plastics, and food.
